Who Are We?

Two hoomans, a lot of cats, and not quite enough free time.

Ibi and Sandro from Dingli Stray Cats

Ibi & Sandro

The two hoomans who somehow ended up working for the cats.

So, who is behind Dingli Stray Cats?

Mainly, it is the two of us — Ibi and Sandro.

What started with simply wanting to help a few stray cats gradually became feeding, arranging neutering, helping cats in need and trying to make sure that the colonies we look after are cared for as well as possible.

We are not a big organisation or a large team. Most of the day-to-day coordination is handled by the two of us, usually while trying to keep up with what the cats have decided they need from us that day.

But we don't do it alone.

A number of other kind people also help us along the way — with feeding, arranging and supporting neutering, transporting cats, helping during recovery and fostering when a cat or kitten needs somewhere safe. Every bit of help allows us to do more for the cats.

OUR MISSION

Everything we do starts with one fundamental principle: the welfare of the cats comes first.

1. The Cats Come First
Our highest priority is the welfare of the cats we care for. This means ensuring that their daily needs are met, from regular feeding and veterinary care to their safety, wellbeing and responsible colony management.

2. Manage Sustainable Cat Colonies
Our second priority is to manage sustainable colonies supported by volunteers who are genuinely happy to play their part. We believe that helping should never become a source of pressure — whether that pressure comes from lack of time, financial demands or stress.

These two priorities go hand in hand.
By creating a sustainable and supportive volunteer community, we strengthen our ability to care for the cats consistently and over the long term. A healthy, sustainable team means better continuity of care, which ultimately means better welfare for the cats.
